Do I need a gel?

Yes. A water-based conductive gel is what lets the head warm evenly and glide. Aloe gel works.

How warm should it feel?

Warm and pleasant. If it ever feels hot, drop a level or move faster.

How often?

Two or three sessions a week, a few minutes per area, is the usual routine.

Is it battery powered?

No. It runs from the included USB cable.
